All I want for Christmas is...

This will be our 6th Christmas that we spend in Ireland, but every year, when we set up our tree and the decorations go up, my mind wonders back to that first Christmas we had in Ireland. Like for so many of you, we also had this crazy up and down between excitement, joy, sadness and missing everyone else.

Our 2 Euro cents worth...

There are many folk in the 'older' age group looking to make a significant change to their lives and plunging into a move to Ireland. This can be, and is very intimidating, especially if this is the first time of moving to a new country with all the uncertainties. Since no one size shoe fits all, it is very difficult to give good / definitive advice and so we can only share our experience and observations.... which is likely to and will differ from others.

"You are a traitor" and other guilt trips sponsored by immigration

Let us see what we can find. You find this amazing resource in South Africans moving to Ireland.

You join. You have a sneaky peek around and then ask your first question "I am a XYZ career. I want to move to Ireland with my family."

You wait with bated breath and then a link is given to you... eagerly you read the info...  and BAM!

Your career is ineligible. Your excitement fades. You can hear your heart break.

But is this where the story ends? Or is this where the story begins?
